Pet Lab Work

Pet Lab Work for Targeted Care

Routine lab work is essential to your pet’s health. Simple blood tests reveal the health of your pet’s internal organs and systems, detect early signs of chronic illness such as diabetes, and establish a “normal” baseline for your unique fur baby.

The best medicine is preventative medicine. At Eno Animal Hospital we champion pet lab work because it plays a vital role in safeguarding your pet’s wellness for a long, happy life.

Our Laboratory Testing Services

Routine lab work is a cornerstone of proactive pet care. We want to know the full health of your pet plus find health issues at their earliest possible stages so we can jump on the best treatment plan.

Our in-house laboratory allows us to get rapid results back on routine tests within minutes. We can perform and analyze in-house lab tests for…

  • Blood chemistry
  • Complete blood count (CBC)
  • Electrolytes
  • Thyroid function
  • Heartworms
  • Ear infections
  • Skin infections

We also run urinalysis to detect painful infections and urinary crystals and intestinal parasite screenings, or fecal tests, to find all-too-common parasitic worms.

Should your pet have a health issue, a quick turnaround on lab work streamlines your pet’s diagnostic process and allows our team to start treatment and medication promptly. Our in-house laboratory paves the way for your fur baby to return to good health!

For more advanced testing, including heart, liver, and kidney function, we use a national laboratory and usually get results back within 24 to 48 hours depending on the complexity of the lab work. Whatever your pet needs, we’ll make sure to run the right test.

Do You Need a Day Admission?

What if your pet needs a visit but can’t fit into an exact time slot? Reserve a day admission spot!

Day admissions are super convenient for busy pet parents, plus allow us to see as many patients as possible as we juggle a full day. You bring your pet to us in the morning; our team has the flexibility throughout the day to help your pet.

We ask day admissions to arrive between 8 and 8:30 a.m. and can usually accommodate small exceptions. Admitting your pet with a vet assistant takes about 10 minutes. You’ll update us on your pet’s health and fill out an admission form.

Admitted patients are not left lonely in a cage. Our medical team checks on them often. We also often walk admitted dogs, and always give lots of love and attention. During the day, we’ll call you with updates and an optimum treatment plan, then set up a time for you to come back and pick up your fur baby.
