Dr. Sabrina Grinstead, DVM

Veterinarian and Owner

Dr. Sabrina Grinstead is passionate about practicing the best medicine and educating pet parents to make the best decisions for their pets. Her fondest Eno moment is opening our beautiful new hospital, which she designed over three years, in February 2019.

Her favorite part of leading Eno is our amazing team. She’s proudly certified Fear Free, which means prioritizing emotional wellbeing alongside physical health.

Dr. Grinstead grew up on a farm—the youngest of six siblings—in the small town of Nazareth, Texas, with chickens, guinea hens, cattle, hunting dogs, and barn cats. Her first family dog was a mutt named Special.

In college, she volunteered at a mixed animal vet and found her calling. Her spirit animal is the dragon: courageous, powerful, and strong.

Dr. Grinstead graduated from Texas A&M’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She has experience as a large-animal mobile vet, a relief vet, and an emergency vet: one of the field’s toughest jobs.

In 2006, Dr. Grinstead moved to Durham to focus on what she loves most: small animal medicine and surgery. She bought Eno Animal Hospital in 2011 to make a positive impact in her adopted community. Her mission is to help as many pets as possible.

In 2018, Dr. Grinstead established our cause: to help first responders help animals by providing pet oxygen kits to local fire departments. Matching all funds raised from generous pet parents, to date we’ve donated 25 of these life-saving devices to the FDs of Durham, Bahama, Stem, Creedmoor, Lebanon, and Redwood. Learn more about our cause.

Eno Animal Hospital is your other family doctor. Dr. Grinstead is excited to grow our Eno family and welcome new pets. Our team is here to make sure your fur babies live long, healthy, happy lives.

Dr. Grinstead lives in the neighborhood with her husband, Brad; their two children; dogs Leia and Badger; and cats Sprite and Capiche. She enjoys reading, crafting, sewing, gardening, and playing card games with her family and friends.

Her motto is: “I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness I can show to any being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
