Dr. Sabrina Grinstead, DVM

Veterinarian and Owner

Dr. Sabrina Grinstead grew up on a farm—the youngest of six siblings—in the small town of Nazareth, Texas, with chickens, guinea hens, cattle, hunting dogs, and barn cats. Her first dog was a mutt named Special.

In college, she volunteered for a mixed animal veterinary practice and found her calling. Her spirit animal is the dragon: courageous, powerful, and strong.

Dr. Grinstead graduated from Texas A&M’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She first applied her talents at a mixed animal practice that also handled emergencies. She has experience as a large animal mobile vet, as a relief vet, and, for two years, as an emergency vet: one of the toughest jobs a veterinarian can ever do.

In 2006, Dr. Grinstead moved to Durham to focus on what she loves most: small animal medicine and surgery. Hoping to make a difference in her adopted community, she became the owner of Eno Animal Hospital in 2011. Her mission has always been to provide the best care and compassion.

At Eno, Dr. Grinstead is fulfilling her passion for practicing the best medicine and educating pet parents to make the best decisions for their pets. Her favorite part of leading Eno is working with an amazing team to help as many pets as possible. Her proudest, fondest Eno moment was when we moved into our beautiful new building in February 2019.

Dr. Grinstead is so excited about Eno’s future and to grow our hospital and practice even better medicine. She also established our cause: help first responders help animals. In 2018, we started raising money for pet oxygen kits, and we have since donated 22 of these life-saving devices to local fire departments: Durham, Bahama, Creedmore, Lebanon, and Redwood.

Eno Animal Hospital is your other family doctor. Dr. Grinstead is committed to carrying on the friendly, family feel Eno was built on more than 30 years ago. The entire Eno team is here to make sure your fur babies live long, healthy, and happy lives.

Dr. Grinstead lives right down the road with her husband, Brad; their two children; dogs, Leia and Badger; and cats, Sprite and Capiche. She enjoys reading, crafting, sewing, gardening, and playing card games with her family and friends.

Her motto is: “I shall pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
